11-year-old girl dies in Walworth County crash
WHITEWATER - The Walworth County Sheriff's Office said an 11-year-old girl from Delavan has died after a crash in the Town of Whitewater.
The single-car crash happened on Highway 89 south of Island Road Wednesday at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The Sheriff's Office said the 11-year-old died at the scene. She was a passenger in the backseat.
A 17-year-old girl was driving the car and was able to get out of the vehicle. It was unclear whether she was injured.
Another 17-year old girl was trapped in the car and had to be extricated. She had critical injuries and was transported to the hospital by Flight For Life. Her condition was unknown Thursday.
The crash is under investigation.
