Madison activist on ballot as Green Party VP
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Will the real vice presidential nominee for the Green Party please stand up?
Madison activist Ben Manski appears on the ballot in Wisconsin as the party's vice presidential candidate, even though he isn't.
The real candidate is Cheri Honkala of Philadelphia. She is running with Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein.
Manski says his name was simply a placeholder put on petitions circulated to get Stein on the ballot in Wisconsin before Honkala was named as her running mate.
That makes two Wisconsin residents on the ballot running for vice president.
The other one, of course, is Republican Paul Ryan of Janesville.
