Elderly Waukesha shootout suspect heads to court Thursday
WAUKESHA - The suspect in a domestic violence situation that sparked a police shootout in Waukesha was expected to enter a courtroom Thursday.
Dick Petarius, 76, shot twice at officers at his ex-wife's condominium earlier this week.
Officers fired back 26 times.
Neighbors say the building was riddled with bullets.
"If that would have hit somebody, any of those, I think this would have really been a disaster," said Barbara Klabunde, a family friend.
Petarius' ex-wife has a broken arm.
He remains in jail.
