Trial for teen accused of beating, robbing man in wheelchair
RACINE - One of two teenagers have been scheduled for a trial after they allegedly attacked and robbed a man in a wheelchair.
Alexander Pietsch has had his trial schedule, while Justin Lyons' initial court appearance is set for next week.
They face robbery and battery charges, and penalties could be increased because the victim is disabled.
The beating happened earlier in October in Racine. The victim, David Scholzen, dialed 911 just before the attack.
He claims the defendants tried to steal his smart phone while he was on his way home from a party.
David: "Help! Help!"
Suspect: "Give me that cell phone, (expletive)!"
David: Why are you doing this to me? What the hell?"
Police quickly arrested the suspects. An officer found Scholzen on the ground.
"It made me sick, you know," said Debbie Christensen.
"He's sitting up there like nothing happened, and did not look remorseful to me...Who knows how long he could have laid there before anybody would have come along and see him?"
