Recalled state senator arrested for domestic abuse, cited for drunk driving
FOND DU LAC - Sheriff's deputies have arrested a recalled state senator for allegedly committing domestic abuse and cited for drunk driving.
Authorities released Randy Hopper, 46, after he posted $500 cash bond.
Voters recalled Hopper after he supported Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law. Hopper previously avoided conviction on a drunk driving charge.
According to the department, deputies responded to a domestic abuse situation on Rienzi Road at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday night.
They then arrested Hopper.
The Fond du Lac District Attorney's office was to review the incident.
