Motorcyclist dies in crash
WEST ALLIS -- A man is dead after he ran into a Department of Public Works vehicle while driving his motorcycle Saturday evening around eight o'clock. According to the West Allis Police Department, the man was attempting to pass on vehicle on his left and failed to notice the DPW vehicle that was stopped in the left lane for road maintenance.
The man died from his injuries on scene. According to witnesses, he hit the rear corner of the DPW vehicle and was thrown from the motorcycle into the path of the car he was attempting to pass. The vehicle hit the man before it could stop.
The man has not been identified at this time. Whether alcohol was a factor in the crash is still under investigation.
