"That's Packers football.  Once again, Aaron does a great job managing the line of scrimmage...our 3rd down offense is something we focused on coming into the game...I thought it was big on that drive."

On onside kick:
"When you have a weapon like Mason Crosby...if you have someone like Mason that you have the confidence in..he's swinging it better than ever.  The opportunity was there.  Execution was the key thing.  The ability to fight and get the ball, exactly what you needed."

On another big day by Aaron Rodgers:

Where is his team right now after the Houston game?
"We were able to really go out and complete a football game in all three phases...that's the level we want to play at...I thought it was clearly our best game."

How can his team achieve "sustainability?"
"Consistency is a big part of our business.  We've been able to play at a consistent level in the past.  It's time for the 2012 team to take on that identity."

On the team's depth:
"Every year, you seem to go through stretches of injuries...it's an opportunity for the other players.  We do a good job of stressing, training, individual time spent between coaches and other players...make sure our young guys continue to grow and develop."

Packers prediction time: As the Super Bowl XIV film said about the '79 Rams, this 2012 edition with Jeff Fisher is "not the same old Rams."

Bradford will play with improvement.  When he's not getting Clay Matthews battering him like a pinata, he can pick apart a defense.

He'll have his moments, and I see this improved Rams defense giving Aaron Rodgers and company some trouble, but not enough.

A big fourth quarter leads the Packers to a 31-21 win.

The Packers' inactives - at least the key wones - were already common knowledge by Friday: WR Greg Jennings, LB Nick Perry, NT B.J. Raji, LB D.J. Smith.

The key actives - not that there was doubt to whether they would play - are QB Aaron Rodgers and TE Jermichael Finley.

They're key not because of their active status, but the questions of their effectiveness.

Rodgers, with his calf injury, is the type of QB who won't let pain get in his way if he can.

Finley, well, we already know his issues of concentration.  Pain may make it even worse - unless he steps up.

Joe Barksdale is the new left tackle today for St. Louis with Wayne Hunter out.  Barksdale is a third stringer.  Clay Matthews is salivating.

"Stacking success."

That has been the mantra of Mike McCarthy, the Packers coach, all week.

It's something the Packers did 19 times in building a tower of success for 317 days before it became de-stacked like a falling Jenga tower in Kansas City during a harsh December 2011 defeat.

In the same state where that debacle happened, the Packers can begin restacking success with a win against the St. Louis Rams, a team they should beat.

But it won't be easy.

"It's still going to be a big challenge," said McCarthy in an exclusive interview with Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News."

"They're definitely more talented than when we played them in the past.  Jeff Fisher is doing a great job as he always has.  He clearly is one of the best coaches in the league, in my opinion, runs a very good program.  The way they play defense is in tune with the way they played in Tennessee.  They're a little more multiple on offense...this is a well-rounded football team."

Against such a well-rounded squad, without Greg Jennings, B.J. Raji, NIck Perry or Sam Shields, we find out if last Sunday night was a fluke, or the foundation of the construction of a possible championship.
