Greendale district gets national landmark designation
GREENDALE - A historic district in the Milwaukee area has been designated a national historic landmark.
The U.S. Department of the Interior gave that honor to Greendale's historic district.
Greendale was one of three government-sponsored "Greenbelt" communities built during the Great Depression in the 1930's.
