Burglar apparently targeting the recently deceased
JUNCTION CITY, Wis. (AP) -- Portage County sheriff's investigators say a burglar targeting homes in the Junction City area is using newspaper obituaries to target homes of the recently deceased.
Authorities have linked a couple recent burglaries in the town of Carson and another in July to the same burglar. In the latest crime, deputies say an obituary ran in the newspaper just one day before the burglary.
The Stevens Point Journal (http://tinyurl.com/8e7yco3 ) says Portage County is also working with deputies in Wood and Marathon counties that may be tied to the same burglar.
