Wisconsin DMVs to close for Columbus Day
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state Division of Motor Vehicles is warning people that its customer service and phone centers will be closed on Columbus Day next week.
DMV officials say all front-line customer service representatives will receive technical updates and training that day. They say they scheduled the training for Columbus Day because it's a federal holiday and fewer customers tend to visit service centers on those days.
People can still access recorded information through the DMV's automated phone system and find information on the division's website.
Columbus Day falls on Monday, Oct. 8.
