Michelle Obama praises President Obama's character, policies during Appleton speech
APPLETON- First Lady Michelle Obama is campaigning again in Wisconsin.
On Friday, Mrs. Obama met with supporters at Lawrence University in Appleton.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Shelley Walcott was at the campaign rally, and says there were possibly as many as 1,500 people there to see the first lady speak.
She started addressing the crowd around 3:44 p.m, and took the opportunity to heap the praise on her husband -- both in political accomplishments, and personally why she married him.
"It was his character, truly, it was his decency and honesty," said Michelle Obama.
The first lady hit the big issues too, pushing to end tax cuts for the upper class, touting the auto maker bailouts and health care reform.
"See Barack (Obama) didn't care whether health reform was the easy thing politically, he cared that it was the right thing to do," said Michelle Obama.
Mrs. Obama says her husband is best fit to lead since he's lived the American dream himself.
She says the election "could come down to a few thousand votes."
This latest campaign stop in Wisconsin comes on the heels of President Obama himself appearing at the Summerfest Grounds last weekend.
This is her second visit in Wisconsin in the past four weeks. She was in Milwaukee and Oak Creek last month, and met with members of the Oak Creek Sikh temple following the temple massacre.
