Stolen in Seattle
McCarren: Don't blame the replacement refs
GREEN BAY - Packer's Broadcaster Larry McCarren says the ref deal is obviously a good thing.
"But I don't know if there's any solace to be drawn from the fact that it took the Packers getting screwed on national TV to prompt the NFL to get serious about seriously approaching the negotiations and getting a deal done," Larry told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Wisconsin's Morning News.
McCarren says if you are angry about the officiating, you shouldn't direct the anger at the replacement refs. "Those guys were put in a no win situation. The levels they came from, they were on a Sunday drive, they got dropped into the middle of the Indy 500 in progress," Larry said. He says you should be angry at the NFL.
As far as what the players do now, Larry says they can't dwell on what happened in Seattle. He says they really have two options. One is to compartmentalize it and just focus on the task at hand. Or, he says they can get angry about it and play angry. "Those are the ways to approach it."
