Father of four killed after card game, gunman is sentenced
RACINE, Wis. - Tension during a game of cards in Racine led one player to leave and return with a gun.
Now, the gunman, 28 year old Jeremiah Brown has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to second degree reckless homicide while armed.
At his sentencing hearing Friday, Brown apologized to the victim's family, saying he told responsibility for this "senseless act."
Thirty-four-year-old Terrell Byers was killed.
A Journal Times of Racine report indicates Byers is survived by four children.
