KOHLER - A Sheboygan Falls man who disappeared in January has been found dead.

The body of 46-year-old John Schnicke was pulled from the Sheboygan River Thursday, downstream from where he's believed to have fallen from a railroad trestle into the water.

Kohler police Lieutenant David Darin says an autopsy will be done, but so far there aren't any indications of foul play.

Schnicke was last seen leaving a Sheboygan Falls tavern the evening of January 11. Police reported finding footprints leading halfway across the trestle, which is marked with a "no trespassing" sign.

The body was found around 1:00 Thursday afternoon by a person walking along the river.

Schnicke’s family says they still have a lot of questions, but finding Schnicke’s body does provide a little bit of closure.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
