Body found in Lake Michigan near Discovery World
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Fire Department says that a body was found near the breakwater of Lake Michigan near downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday morning.
People along that breakwater discovered the body of the 40-year-old man at about 7:20 this morning.
"We received a call of a body in the water in the area of Discovery World. We sent a full dive response to that location. Our companies found a 40-year-old male victim outside the breakwall," Milwaukee Deputy Fire Chief Jack Christianson told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi.
"The body was discovered by some walkers who were in the area walking this morning."
He said that emergency workers did not attempt to revive the man.
The Fire Department has turned over the body to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Authorities were waiting for results from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office.
