Penny Marshall returns for Doors Open Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Laverne is returning to Milwaukee.

Penny Marshall, who played Laverne DeFazio on "Laverne & Shirley," is appearing on Saturday for Doors Open Milwaukee. That's a citywide architectural open house organized by Historic Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/Qxgqtg ) actress, producer and director is expected to sign copies of her memoir, "My Mother was Nuts" at City Hall.

Doors Open Milwaukee takes place Saturday and Sunday. More than 125 architecturally significant buildings and sites are open to the public free of charge.

Laverne & Shirley" was set in Milwaukee and aired in the 1970s and `80s.
