Woman struck two vehicles before wrong-way crash on I-94, says complaint
MILWAUKEE- The woman believed to be driving the wrong way and crashing into a Milwaukee police officer on I-94 nearly two weeks ago, is now accused of striking two cars earlier that evening.
A criminal complaint released Monday charges Erin M. Salmon, 23, with two counts of striking a vehicle on Tuesday, September 4.
According to the complaint, Salmon, coworkers and her boyfriend, Walter M. Williams, were drinking at the Landmark Bar on Milwaukee's east side starting around 8:30 p.m.
Salmon and her boyfriend apparently left the bar sometime in the 11 p.m. hour, after Salmon consumed "4, 5 or 6 beers" and a shot of whisky.
After leaving the bar, Salmon apparently struck a man's car near E. North Ave. and N. Oakland Ave. around 11:25 p.m. That victim got out of the car and started writing down Salmon's license plate.
Then Williams got out of Salmon's car and tried to prevent that victim from reporting the crash.
Williams has been charged with intimidating a victim and disorderly conduct for attempting to fight the victim while the victim tried calling police.
Then around 11:37 p.m. Salmon allegedly hit another car near E. North Ave. and N. Oakland Ave. The person in the that car spotted Salmon's license plate while she sped away on North Ave. right after the crash.
Sarah Brill's boyfriend, Tyson, was in one of the other cars. He was stopped at a red light on N. Oakland Ave when Salmon rear-ended him.
"He did not interact with the driver. he only interacted with the driver's boyfriend, who was pretty belligerent and had gotten out of the car and was threatening him," explained Brill.
Salmon and Albert are still in critical condition from that crash.
