MILWAUKEE - We close out the last weekend of astronomical summer with sunshine and highs near 80 degrees. It will be a little bit breezy at times with a SW wind at 5-15 mph, but mainly just a beautiful Sunday. Cloud cover increases a bit tonight, helping keep temperatures in the mid-50s, even inland.
A cold front is on the move for Monday and the clouds will continue to increase throughout the morning, but it will be a dry start to the day. High temperatures will be in the low 70s before rain showers start to swing through southeast Wisconsin from northwest to southeast during the afternoon.
A few isolated thunderstorms may accompany the rain, many locations will only see a tenth of an inch of rain but some locations could pick up to a quarter of an inch before midnight. Skies will clear and thanks to a northwest wind, temperatures will drop into the 40s even along Lake Michigan.
We'll really feel the impact of the cold front by Tuesday as temperatures struggle to even hit 60 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
A few spotty afternoon showers are possible but most stay dry. We stay in the 60s for the rest of the work week with a few spotty shower chances but the next best chance of rain comes on Friday.
