GREEN BAY- Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson considers Thursday's 23-10 win extra satisfying because they beat their NFC North rivals -- the Chicago Bears.

"(The win) counts more than a game, because of tiebreakers," said Nelson to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Afternoon News with John Mercure." "It's good to get a step ahead of Chicago."

Nelson led all receivers in Thursday's game with six receptions and 84 receiving yards, but thought it was the Packers defense that had a standout performance.

"Defense stepped up big," said Nelson.

The Packers defense forced four turnovers, and had seven sacks -- with 3.5 sacks coming from All-Pro linebacker Clay Matthews.

"He's playing extremely impressive...He's a handful for offensive lineman," said Nelson.

The Packers (1-1) will have over a week to prepare for their Week 3 opponent -- the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, September 24.

"We worked out today (Friday)," said Nelson.  "But coach (McCarthy) gave us the weekend off."

Nelson said he will spend this weekend watching college and NFL football -- saying he will take that time to be a fan again.
