Raw Video: Honoring Troops Killed In Iraq

SHARON - It is impressive. It’s called the Coalition Memorial. It’s all the work of one man who believes names like Jose Rubio – the 4000th soldier killed in Iraq should be remembered.

Since the war began, Chet Borowski hasn’t stopped counting the dead.

“I’ve seen the 1000th, 2000th and 3000th and now the 4000th," said Borowski who started the Coalition Memorial in 2003.

It’s not just the numbers he remembers, it’s the names and faces of fallen soldiers, sailors and Marines.

"We’re adding the name of Jose Rubio," said Borowski.

And it’s not just the names of American men and women, but all coalition losses in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Every name, every face from 29 nations, according to Borowski.

Sometimes the numbers can be over whelming. Like during last year’s surge.

“It was hard to catch up keep up with the men and women who were dying," Borowski said.

It started with one wall, then two and three. Each wall has more than 300 names and faces on it.

Now, Chet Borowski is running out of real estate.

TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson: "So some day you would like a permanent wall, just not here?"

"Absolutely. I don’t want to do this for the rest of my life," Borowski said.

Until then, Borowski will continue to remember the dead.

“I feel a sense of dedication to this. A sense of recording history. I need to pay respect, pay tribute," Borowski said.

Borowski also has a traveling memorial to honor the soldiers.
