KENOSHA - The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department says that authorities evacuated the County Courthouse there after workers struck a gas line.

"Some folks who were working on the landscaping around the outside of the courthouse hit a gas line with a trencher," said Sgt. Bill Beth to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Erik Bilstad.  It happened before 11:00 a.m.

We Energies told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi that the situation was under control.  The Sheriff's Department lifted the evacuation at about 11:15 a.m.

No other buildings had been evacuated.

Beth noted that crews have been working on restoring the building, and landscapers had been attempting to finish landscaping work.
