  • TOWN OF SAUKVILLE - Two people are dead and a driver is injured after a car drove off a road in Ozaukee County. The crash happened in a dark and rural area, just before 11:00 a.m. Monday night, at the intersection of Hawthorne Road and County Highway I near the Hawthorne Hills Golf Course in the Town of Saukville.

SAUKVILLE- A third person died Tuesday after an overnight car crash in the Town of Saukville, the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department confirmed.

Nicholas Snow, 25, was pronounced dead several hours after the car he was driving struck several trees and split in two.  Stephen Miller, 23, and Jayme Ceplina, 21, died at the scene.

Ceplina had just finished up her time in the Marines.  Her mom Donna said those three were at her house playing pool until about 10:30 Monday night before they hit the road.

Ceplina's family is understandably too shaken up to go on camera, but Jayme reportedly told her mom before she left, "mom, you're the greatest."

Jayme's mother said it felt like minutes later the deputies were at her door with the news.

Stephen Miller's friend Jeff was visibly shaken when he left flowers at the scene of the crash.

"He was outgoing and just was cheerful.  He would help anybody.  He was a smart man, just very energetic," said Jeff to TODAY'S TMJ4.  "He loved life."

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors.  An investigation is ongoing.
