Jail administrator suspended following escape
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (AP) -- A jail administrator in central Wisconsin has been suspended following the escape of an inmate.
Wood County Sheriff Thomas Reichert says the inmate was painting in a work-release section of the jail last week and escaped through a door that was open for ventilation. The inmate was located and arrested the following day in Wisconsin Rapids.
Reichert says administrator Andrew Netz exercised poor judgment in allowing the open door. WAOW-TV (http://tinyurl.com/bo35ue2 ) reports Netz was suspended 30 days without pay.
