Missing 8th grader from Shorewood school found safe
SHOREWOOD- Shorewood police have confirmed to Newsradio 620 WTMJ that a missing 8th grader from Shorewood Intermediate School is now home safe.
Principal Tim Kenney of Atwater Elementary School, spokesperson for the Shorewood School District, recorded a voicemail for parents about the child missing Tuesday afternoon.
The voicemail said, "The purpose of this call is to inform you that an 8th grade student by the name of Cameron Keith is currently missing. Cameron is approximately 5 feet tall, weighs about 90 pounds, and is of Asian descent."
Shorewood police said the 14-year-old student was found walking in Whitefish Bay about two hours after the alert went out. The teen was about a mile from the school when a person who heard that voicemail alerted authorities.
Shorewood police said the student has special needs, and walked the wrong way home.
Authorities said the teen's family recently moved to the area.
