Man arrested in connection to Town of Yorkville murder
TOWN OF YORKVILLE- A suspect has been arrested in connection to the murder of a 54-year-old man in Racine County.
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said the suspect is currently under arrest in Missouri on an unrelated Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant.
Schmaling said that suspect will be extradited back to Racine, where he will be formally arrested for murdering Robert G. Greene early Sunday morning.
According to a news release, the Racine County Sheriff's office traveled over 2,000 miles through five states pursuing leads in the case.
Despite the planned arrest -- authorities stressed that the investigation is still ongoing and they are pursuing leads in this case.
Authorities say that Robert G. Greene was staying with friends when he was shot around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 16000 block of County Highway A.
He was transported to a local hospital and later died from injuries.
