Development company buys Brokaw mill
BROKAW, Wis. (AP) -- A northern Wisconsin development company is buying the former Wausau Paper mill in Brokaw.
The purchase brings hope to those who are unemployed in the area. Four-hundred jobs were eliminated when Wausau Paper closed the plant earlier this year.
Brokaw Development is a division of Niagara Worldwide based in Niagara. Brokaw Development was formed to manage redevelopment of the mill.
Niagara Worldwide president Eric Spirtas says they are communicating with several people who have shown interest in the plant.
WSAW-TV (http://tinyurl.com/cqqj66q ) reports no terms of the transaction were disclosed.
