Janna Ryan thanks Romneys during speech at Republican fundraiser
TAMPA, FL- People in Wisconsin are familiar with Janesville Rep. Paul Ryan.
But Wednesday night is Ryan's chance to introduce himself to the nation.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson reports that Congressman Ryan checked out the stage, the podium and the teleprompter Wednesday afternoon. His wife and kids joined him for the walk through.
Ryan is scheduled to speak during the 9 p.m. hour -- approximately starting around 9:24 p.m. and lasting for nearly 30 minutes.
"Hello cheeseheads (laughs)," are the first words Janna Ryan has spoken publicly since her husband landed in the spotlight as Mitt Romney's running mate.
She joined Ann Romney at a Tuesday morning fundraiser; it was her first speaking event -- and it was brief.
"I just wanted to say thank you to the Romneys for welcoming me, my husband Paul, our three children on this journey. Our families, our children, our future -- that's what this race is all about," said Janna Ryan.
The successful Washington tax lawyer and mother of three is now in a new role that would unsettle anyone's life, even a politician's wife.
"It's is a privilege to join you (Ann Romney) and Mitt, on this campaign. It's a tremendous honor to be on America's comeback team with you all," announced Janna Ryan.
According to Wisconsin state Sen. Leah Vukmir, "I have all the faith and confidence in Janna that she will rise to the occasion. She's a very small, very loving warm family person."
