Milwaukee police identify murder victim
MILWAUKEE- A 40-year-old man shot and killed earlier this week has been identified as Theodore L. Whitfield.
Whitfield and two other women were shot near the corner of North 47th Street and West Garfield Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Monday. The two women are expected to survive.
Neighbors told TODAY'S TMJ4's Nick Montes that two women and their kids live at the home where the shooting happened.
In describing the shooting, neighbor Dawn Michalski said the number of shots fired were "like seven, eight, nine, ten maybe."
She also described the women as not being problems to the neighborhood. "The (women) sit on the porch with their kids. They're quiet. If you walk by, they'll say 'hello.'"
Lillian Sullivan lives next door to the shooting scene. She had guests over when it happened, and they couldn't leave until 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"We sat here, watching what was going on, trying to keep our spirits up," Sullivan told Montes.
Authorities said Tuesday they're searching for two black men, and don't know if the men ran off or took off in a car.
