'Cheesehead Revolution' underway at RNC in Tampa
TAMPA, FL- Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan and his family flew from Janesville to Tampa on Tuesday for the Republican National Convention (RNC).
The convention nominates Ryan for vice president and Mitt Romney for president Tuesday.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson reports the Wisconsin delegation has finally arrived on the convention floor after a storm delay, and some are proudly wearing their cheeseheads.
"I have been politically involved for the last four years part of that 'Cheesehead Revolution,'" said Hayward Republican Jim Miller to TODAY'S TMJ4.
He's not alone
Bryan Steil from Janesville is organizing a social media effort behind the "Cheesehead Revolution" to promote Wisconsin as the nation's leader in new ideas with Reince Priebus, Scott Walker and Paul Ryan.
"Everybody here wants to be a Wisconsinite, they are calling it the 'Cheesehead Revolution," said Jonathan Steitz.
Milwaukee Republican Rick Baas is at his second Republican convention. He feels like this time he's going to be a part of history. While African-American overwhelmingly support President Obama, he's not a believer.
"I want to make sure is what my party does is help average guy, stay in his house get a job, raise his kids," said Baas.
Governor Walker is expected to speak at the RNC sometime in the 7 p.m. hour on Tuesday.
