Walworth deputy shoots suspect in Sugar Creek bank robbery
SUGAR CREEK, Wis. - Charges are expected Monday for a bank robbery suspect who tried to run-down a sheriff's deputy.
The Walworth county deputy was using a police technique to try to stop the suspect as he fled from the hold-up at the People's Bank North in the town of Sugar Creek when the suspect's car approached.
Walworth county sheriff David Graves explains at times, the high speed chase reached speeds in excess of 80 mph.
Graves says the deputy felt his life was in danger and had no other choice but to shoot at the suspect's car.
The suspect was wounded and has since been released from the hospital.
The deputy is on administrative duty during the shooting investigation.
