MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -  A high-swinging ride at the Minnesota State Fair that has had numerous issues, including problems when it visited the Wisconsin State Fair, remained shut down Saturday morning, but was expected to reopen later in the day.

Owner of Sky Attractions Tom McDonagh tells the Star Tribune he hoped the Stratosphere would be running later in the day.

A total of 24 people were stranded on the Stratosphere about 100 feet off the ground for about 40 minutes Friday.

A similar situation stranded riders a day earlier, as well as at the Wisconsin State Fair earlier this month.

The Stratosphere is a tall tower with swings that go up and down as the tower spins.
