Old World Wisconsin to offer turn-of-century fall weekend
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Old World Wisconsin plans to offer a pioneer-style get-ready-for-winter weekend.
The historical site will offer activities that Wisconsin settlers performed to prepare for the snow and cold, ranging from riding on horse-drawn wagons, watching draft horses drag logs out of the woods, cooking over open fires, putting garden produce into crocks and jars and stockpiling dried foods and herbs.
The activities are slated to run all day on Saturday, Oct. 6, and again on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Old World Wisconsin is located just outside Eagle in Waukesha County.
