Fond du Lac man who died in crash identified
TOWN OF POLK- Authorities have identified the man killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon along U.S 41 near Highway 144.
The Washington County Sheriff's office said that 39-year-old Timothy J. Jerdee of Fond du Lac is dead; a 38-year-old woman from Fond du Lac remains hospitalized at the Milwaukee County Medical Complex from that crash.
Authorities say those two people were riding in a vehicle along southbound U.S. 41 around 3:23 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the grassy median, rolled over, and came to rest in the left lane of northbound U.S. 41.
Authorities are unclear why that vehicle crashed, or who was driving since both were ejected from the vehicle.
The crash caused northbound and southbound U.S. 41 to be shut down or restricted for nearly two and a half hours Tuesday afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Accident Reconstruction Unit.
