Man killed, woman seriously injured from crash along U.S. 41 near Slinger
TOWN OF POLK- A man is dead, and a woman is in the hospital with serious injuries following a crash Tuesday afternoon along U.S 41 near Highway 144.
The Washington County Sheriff's office said the two people were riding in a vehicle along southbound U.S. 41 around 3:23 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the grassy median, rolled over, and came to rest in the left lane of northbound U.S. 41.
Authorities are unclear why that vehicle crashed.
Both people inside were ejected from the vehicle and transported by Flight for Life to the Milwaukee County Medical Complex.
The man died as a result of his injuries. The woman remains hospitalized with serious injuries, according to a news release.
The crash caused northbound and southbound U.S. 41 to be shut down or restricted for nearly two and a half hours Tuesday afternoon.
The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Accident Reconstruction Unit.
The names of those two individuals are being temporarily withheld pending notification of family.
