Supervisor Taylor wants explanation for Sue Black firing
MILWAUKEE- Due to a clause in the contract with the current property manager at Crystal Ridge ski area, Milwaukee County could be on the hook for close to $10 million over a lease deal approved by the board.
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele wasn't happy with former Milwaukee County Parks Director Sue Black's handling of the issue, but county Supervisor Steve Taylor told Newsradio 620 WTMJ that everyone needs to share the blame.
"We had due diligence with the Department of Administrative Services, through our corporate counsel, checked over by our comptroller...before it even got to the County Board," said Taylor.
No matter who's to blame, Supervisor Taylor said Abele needs to come clean on why Black was fired.
"The longer this drags on, the more it's going to fester, the more gossip will occur -- this will not go away," believes Taylor.
Black claims she was wrongfully fired, so she wants her old job back or compensated more for her firing. Abele told TODAY'S TMJ4 that he doesn't have a comment on Black's request.
He hired an interim county parks director on Monday.
