MADISON - Children from Wisconsin are again invited to help decorate the state's entry in the National Christmas Tree display in Washington, D.C.

The state is taking applications from artists or art teachers from around Wisconsin, with a special veterans-oriented theme.

"We'll randomly select an applicant and pair him or her with a group of children who have family members who are veterans or are currently serving in the military," said Gov. Scott Walker in a statement.

"Together they'll work to decorate Wisconsin's national Christmas Tree."

The 2011 Wisconsin tree had ornaments made by Edgar High School students.
