Romney, Ryan's well-kept secret before announcement
WAUKESHA - In the days before the official VP announcement, the Romney campaign took drastic measures to keep the pick a secret.
Last Sunday Mitt Romney called Congressman Paul Ryan with his decision.
CNN says Ryan slapped on a baseball cap, sunglasses, jeans and a casual shirt and, unnoticed by the press, caught a flight from Chicago to Hartford, Connecticut.
He was then picked up by the 19 year old son of a campaign aide and driven to meet with Romney.
Ryan then got word of the deadly shooting rampage at the Sikh temple and came back to Wisconsin, again unnoticed.
He attended the memorial service on Friday, walked through his front door, and straight out the back door, through the woods, and to his childhood home, where he was picked up again by another aide and headed to Virginia for the official vice presidential announcement.
