8-year-old Fond du Lac girl saves man's life in Lake Winnebago
FOND DU LAC - An 8-year-old girl from Fond du Lac is being called a hero for saving a man from drowning.
Alex Wiegert was playing in Lake Winnebago with Todd Sikora, a family friend.
According to the Fond du Lac Reporter, Sikora passed out, and Alex turned to see him floating face down in the water.
She tells the paper she thought he was joking around at first, but then realized he was in trouble.
The third grader towed him to shore, flipped him over and raced to find her father, who called 9-1-1.
Doctors don't know why Sikora passed out, but they say if he'd been in the water any longer, he may not be alive today.
Sikora calls Alex his little guardian angel.
