MADISON, Wis. - Although detectives have said the attack on UW football player Montee Ball this week was unprovoked, Madison police are now confirming that several members of the Wisconsin football team were involved in a fight just a few days earlier.

Police say Ball was present during the fight, but there is no evidence if he took part in it.

Ball was beaten and kicked in the 500 block of University Avenue early Wednesday and suffered a

concussion as a result.

Detectives have developed several persons of interest, but so far, made no arrests.
