Officials say drought conditions improving in Milwaukee area
MILWAUKEE - The government's latest report on our drought, which came out Thursday morning, showed conditions improving in parts of Wisconsin.
Nearly all of southeast Wisconsin was in an extreme drought at the end of July.
The new map out Thursday had downgraded the area north of I-94 to being in a severe drought.
The area south of I-94 was still listed in the extreme drought category.
The story in Sheboygan County was even better.
Sheboygan and far northern Ozaukee Counties are listed as only in a moderate drought.
