Body of kayaker recovered from Pecatonica River
ARGYLE, Wis. (AP) -- Lafayette County sheriff's officials say the body of a kayaker was recovered from the Pecatonica River Monday.
The man's empty kayak was found Sunday night in the river near the Village of Argyle.
A boat paddle was found floating about 300 yards away. Sheriff's deputies, Argyle police and fire personnel did a search of the water, but suspended it due to darkness.
Authorities began dragging the river early Monday and recovered the body of 57-year-old Dale Jelinek, of Argyle.
