MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a pair of overnight squad car crashes.
Officers were responding to a call at 11:37 Saturday night in the 1300 block of W. Locust St. when a vehicle ignored a flashing red light and drove into the path of the squad.
"The officer swerved to avoid the collision and subsequently collided with a parked motor vehicle," Department spokesperson Regina Howard said in a news release. "The officer suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover."
The Department is also investigating a second crash at 1:43 Sunday near 14th St. and National Ave.
"An officer responding to a call for police collided with a motorist who drove into the path of the squad," Howard said. "No injuries were reported. The driver of the other vehicle is in police custody."
