Local doctor tends to Olympic athletes
BROOKFIELD - When he's not busy seeing patients at his Brookfield office, Dr. Matthew Frahm tends to some of the world's most elite athletes. And this weekend, this 31-year-old chiropractor is taking his services to the Olympic Games in London.
Dr. Frahm told TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Shelley Walcott: "The whole experience in general I think is going to be absolutely incredible."
Dr. Frahm works with a national network of doctors called Maximized Living. They provide support and care to high level athletes.
"USA Judo, USA Weightlifting, USA Wrestling and USA Volleyball sitting team, which are the Paralympic Games."
Dr. Frahm has been preparing for this trip to London for over two years now. His team of doctors will be working with over 100 athletes:
"To get the peak performance out of their bodies," said Dr. Frahm. "And to help them reduce their risk of injury so that they can get out there and win us some gold medals for the USA."
And it isn't just about providing physical treatments --- Dr. Frahm and the other doctors teach nutrition and medical care. It's preventative medicine to make sure athletes who have trained their whole lives are in peak condition on the world stage.
"Only the best of the best of the best make it to this level," said Dr. Frahm. "So seeing them finally accomplish their dream and accomplish their goal. Just talking about it right now, it makes my heart swell."
