THIENSVILLE- The father of Colorado shooting victim Carey Rottman is back in Wisconsin.

Dr. Dale Rottman and his wife rushed to their son's side after he called saying he had been shot.

The 27-year-old Mequon native was with a friend during the premiere of the Dark Knight Rises. Police say suspect James Holmes fired on the crowd minutes into the film.

Dozens, including Rottman were injured.

Dale Rottman said he and his wife arrived at the hospital in Colorado and found their son bandaged and in pain.

Dr. Rottman says he is thankful his son survived.  "We all feel bad for the families who lost loved ones and bad for the families."

Dr. Rottman arrived in Milwaukee late Tuesday night.  He says Carey is now out of the hospital recuperating and will meet with doctors next week.

Carey Rottman was visited by Batman star Christian Bale on Tuesday.
