DOJ to answer concealed carry questions in Pewaukee

PEWAUKEE - Wisconsin's concealed carry law has been in effect for about eight and a half months.
Still, many people have questions about the law and the process to get a permit.
An event in Pewaukee will allow state officials the chance to answer those questions.
The goal is to get public input on new training standards for concealed carry.
Right now, training is required, but what type of training isn't specified.
The state is proposing stricter guidelines.
Applicants would have to learn about self defense and when to resort or refrain from deadly force.
Additionally, classes would be limited to 50 students for each instructor.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is hosting three public hearings on the new, extensive, permanent proposed rules.
The DOJ held the first hearings in Superior and Green Bay.
The third hearing has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee.
The public is invited to attend.
