Sheboygan County teen in theater next to Colorado massacre welcomed home
VILLAGE OF CASCADE- A teenager from Sheboygan County who was in the theater next door to the Colorado massacre is back home.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Annie Scholz spoke Tuesday with Katie Trakel and some her family members who say the group is pretty tired after everything that happened.
So TODAY'S TMJ4 is respecting their privacy as they get settled in -- and it became obvious, the Village of Cascade is glad they're back.
Jordan Lentz goes to Plymouth High School with Katie Trakel. Trakel was caught up in the Colorado shooting Friday, sitting in the theater next to the one where James Holmes opened fire.
"We're praying for her and her group," said Lentz to TODAY'S TMJ4.
Katie Trakel made it out unharmed, and made it home, flying in around midnight Monday.
"I'm happy that she's safe and she's back home and hopefully it will get better," said Lentz.
Katie's cousin told TODAY'S TMJ4 they're a pretty low key family, so this is a lot for them. They're just looking forward to moving on.
