Energy emergency declared in northeast Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - The northeast part of the state was ordered to go under an energy emergency Saturday morning, after a pipeline shutdown between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
Issuing the proclamation today, Governor Scott Walker says the shutdown has the potential to trigger a shortage of petroleum products, including gasoline, to the Green Bay area.
Right now, gasoline is being shipped to Green Bay by tanker truck, but a news release from Walker's office says that long lines at gasoline terminals in Madison and Milwaukee are making it tough for companies to keep up with the demand.
The proclamation allows gasoline truckers to be exempt from weekly hours of service restrictions.
The exemption applies to all highways in Wisconsin for ten days, starting Saturday
