MADISON- An attorney who won a $482,000 judgment against Mercedes Benz is seeking garnishment of earnings from Wisconsin's six dealers to pay it off.

Vince Megna filed the action Thursday in Waukesha County circuit court. It comes after the state Supreme Court in May upheld a lower court ruling against Mercedes Benz in a 2005 lemon law case.

With interest, Megna says $618,000 is now owed not counting up to $200,000 in attorneys' fees.

Megna says Mercedes Benz not made any overture to pay the judgment.

Mercedes attorney Patrick Wells did not immediately return a message.

The ruling grew out of a case involving a Waukesha businessman who bought a defective $56,000 Mercedes-Benz, but the company argued it wasn't liable because the owner didn't provide information needed to grant a refund.
