Rescuers save girl's life after found in Lake Geneva
FONTANA - Rescuers saved the life of a 13-year-old girl who, according to officials, was found "lifeless" and floating face down in Lake Geneva.
The rescue happened at about 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Abbey Springs Association Beach in Fontana.
Geneva Lake Water Safety Patrol officials say a lifeguard at the beach discovered the girl, who had floated face down and unconscious after jumping into the water.
The lifeguard pulled the girl to a nearby pier. Crews from a safety patrol boat then resuscitated the girl, along with an off-duty firefighter.
She was taken to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. There was no immediate update on her condition Tuesday morning.
