GREENFIELD- Greenfield police are investigating the stabbing death of a mother of three young kids.

It happened early Saturday morning, and police have the woman's boyfriend in custody.

Police arrested Maggie Litwicki's live-in boyfriend, and father of two of her children.  They say he was arrested after getting into a car accident early Saturday morning in Oak Creek.

Litwicki's two sons ages six and eight were home the night of the stabbing, but police told TODAY'S TMJ4 the kids didn't see anything.

Police say they went to Maggie Litwicki's house after her car had been in an accident, and was found abandoned in Oak Creek.

Early Saturday morning, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department later found Litwicki's boyfriend near the Wisconsin Air National Guard 128th Air Refueling Wing base at Mitchell International Airport.

"He was in a car accident, and they saw him all bloody," said neigbhor Nicole Lopez to TODAY'S TMJ4.  "When the cops came, when they were going to take him into custody and that's when he admitted what he did."

The boyfriend was brought to St. Luke's.  According to police, he was saying things that made them concerned for Litwicki's well being.

Meanwhile friends and neighbors are mourning Litwicki's death, waiting to find out why it happened.

"It's very tragic, I knew Maggie personally," said 1st District Alderwoman Linda Lubotsky.  "I helped her with some issues here in the city.  She leaves behind three beautiful children."

The boyfriend is being held in the Milwaukee County jail, he has not been charged yet.
